Hey guys hows it going, ive got a quit question regarding the flex plate for the 5.2 318. i have a 318 from a 99 dakota and im swapping my 2003 dakota currently with the 3.9, i purchased a flywheel for the 5.2 and totally forgot about the flex plate, will i be able tog et away with out or with the v6 flexplate since the flywheel has the 8 notches ? if not can someone shoot me a link of where i can purchase one, ive been on summit and rock auto but not sure if its the correct one. and btw i have the 5 speed manual NV3500 thanks !!
If you've got a 5 speed, you don't need a flex plate - the clutch pressure plate bolts directly to the flywheel, and if you have a flywheel with 8 notches you're all set. The flex plate is used only for bolting up the torque converter on an automatic transmission.
Thanks for the quick reply and info, learn something new everyday
