Default 3.9 V6 dies but runs fine later

I have a 94 Magnum V6, 2wd, auto trans. In the last few days it has died twice suddenly while on the road. Its just humming along and shuts down. It cranks but won't restart immediately. First time, I tried restarting for about a 1/2 hour with no luck, came back about 2 hours and it fired right up and ran great. Second incident today, it didn't restart immediately, but after about 5 minutes it did and ran fine again. Once home, I started and ran it multiple times, runs great. Moved the wire harness, ECU plug, and engine sensor wiring etc around while running, it never died. I checked the notorious "splice" under the fuse box, its clean and solid.

Back history on this truck, last year it had a problem first thing in the mornings starting up...had to leave the key "ON" for about 15 minutes then it would fire up and run fine all day. I changed the ECU with a new unit and it was repaired. It has and continues to run smooth, no errors on the ECU, just #12 & #55 OBD codes. All is stock. I did replace the crankshaft sensor and the IG coil prior to the ECU replacement last year.
I'm waiting for the engine to die again so I can test for spark etc but in the meantime, its a gamble driving....
Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated.

After at least 50 drive cycles without touching the battery cables, see if it still spits a 12 code. If so, something's interrupting power to the ECU.
