Looking for an engine wiring harness for a 92-93 Dodge Dakota v8 4x4 with cruise control and ac. If you have one, or you know of someone who has, let me know. Every salvage yard in my area doesnít have one with a good harness.

Colorado. If you know of one that you can get a harness off of, please send it to me. Iíd spend a fortune for it. I looked online, and they used to offer plug and play harnesses for magnums that people put in old cars, but all I have is a wiring harness from a 94 Dakota with a manual transmission, if I just canít find a better harness, Iíll work with the one Iíve got. Iím on the lookout for a parts truck for sale in my area, but yeah, if you can find one Iíd really appreciate it.

What's wrong with the 94 harness?

If you've got an automatic, you can fake up the auto wiring with a couple of pressure switches, a vacuum switch, and some wiring and plumbing. See, for instance, https://transmissioncenter.net/shop/...iring-diagram/ (disclaimer: PATC is a local to me shop, with good folks. They're not the ONLY place to find that, though.)

I plan to stay with the automatic. A 92-93 harness would be ideal is the reason. I would prefer to not have to add on this extra stuff and try to avoid having to splice wires as much as possible. But Iím already this far, so Iím sure I could make it work. I canít exactly remember, but did they go to two O2 sensors in 94 or was that when they switched to obd 2 in 96?

They only added downstream O2 sensors with OBD2, since OBD1 didn't care if the cats quit or not.

How much of the harness do you need? I ask because the local U-Pull-It charges per harness, and they would list the whole thing as five or six at least harnesses.

Got the exhaust manifolds sand blasted. Look pretty good now.

Iím looking for the engine and transmission part of it. I believe if I can find a 92-95 Dakota v8 with the automatic, 4x4 etc... I will be okay. Thereís a couple 95 Dakotas at my local salvage yard that Iíll have to check out tomorrow. You take kind of a gamble because they donít tell you what engine or transmission or anything and they charge a two dollar entry fee. Iíll keep you guys updated on what happens.

As luck would have it, both of the trucks were rear wheel drive v6s, I found a 92 in another salvage yard, but it was a v6 manual. However, I did obtain a better kick down cable that has the little end piece on it from one of the trucks.
