Tire Choices
I'm in the market for some new tires since the BF's on the truck are getting cracked, worn, and just plain bald. What tires do you have on your truck and how do they hold up to snow, rain, MPG, turning, treadwear and road noise?
I'm looking at getting the Kumho Solus KR21 108T XLs (the other KR21s are slightly less heavy duty) and they seem to have good reviews basically anywhere. Since I would rather not get an LT tire as I won't be using the truck for that much hauling beyond lighter stuff I can put in the bed, I think these tires should do just fine. But recommendations of other tires are welcome! Trying to stay under $100 per tire.

That's usually a bit difficult, since, according to a few tire guys I know,
"Quiet, long life, good wet traction, great fuel economy. Pick one or two, but no more than." *grins*
THAT said - folks with Kumho tires I know tend to like them for daily drivers and grocery getters, not so much for the sporty guys. YMMV naturally.

Fair enough. I'm not going to be taking this vehicle off road any time soon since there would be way too many other parts that would need to be replaced for that to even think about happening. This truck is mostly a grocery getting along with hauling some stuff in the bed, but not nearly enough to get close to the bed/towing capacity.

I've got Mastercraft (made by Cooper Tires, actually these were made about 75 miles from my house!) tires, but they do have a bit of road noise. They do good on wet pavement, and are a 100 load rating for 215/75R15s. So not much hauling, a bit more noise, decent life (currently I have about 33,000 miles on them and have another 4/32" before I hit the tread wear indicators), good wet traction - overall, not a bad deal I thought.
I may spring a bit more and find a compatible size in something like the Michelin Defender family - a 80,000 mile tire, and so far they are doing their best to live up to that on the Cougar.
They ARE a bit more than $100 each, though, alas. (The Cougar's four 225/60R16s were $850 (!!!!) about 18 months ago.)

I have Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo2. The first reason why I bought them is the price I got from http://4wheelonline.com/Off_Road_Mud_Tires.25. Secondly, I heard good things about them. So far, I like the traction and handling. I feel confident while driving on wet pavement.

I am not an all seasons lover but for a cheap four ply tire you could try Americus All Season tires I had them when I bought my truck but I drove them on gravel not a lot of road but on the road they were quiet and help up and decent in rain and snow.

$96.00 at Walmart. the Dextro DHT2. 235X75R15. good, cheap truck tire. should foot the bill.
I have 7000 miles on mine, and are wearing great. Sipping is real nice. good wet weather tire, and probably snow too.
