Default Tire and Wheel Specs Help For A Stock Height

Im looking at a 2WD 2007 Dakota with 46,000 miles, My grandpa has had one for a few years now and when I was in Canada working for him in highschool I daily drove it and fell in love with it, I found the perfect one for a great price and now im ready to buy it. My biggest question is about what size wheels and tires I can run on stock suspension, I am willing to lift it a few inches if it becomes necessary for the wheels I want, Im looking at the XD775 Rockstars, they come in 17''x8 with a 10mm offset and a 17''x8 with a 35mm offset. Theres also an 20"x8.5 with a 10mm offset but thats a little big for what i'm wanting, and then im looking for a good tire size to go with them. I want as little rubbing as possible, or none at all but if its impossible to fit without lifting then i'm willing to go up 1.5 inches or 2 inches if I need to

The stock Dodge wheels have an offset of 25. A wheel with a 35 offset will not work, you'll rub on the frame and front sway bar, plus you'll be tucked in and it will not look that great. An offset of 10 will cause the tire to get closer and possibly rub the front bumper fascia and front wheel splash guard, and if you start trimming the front fascia, it gets ugly quick. There are plenty of aftermarket wheel choices with an offset of 18, that would be ideal.

Keep in mind these tire sizes below are with a wheel at or very close to stock offset:

3G Dakota factory tire sizes

3G Dakota tire sizes with factory lift and slight to moderate trimming

3G Dakota tire sizes with 1.5" or 2.0" leveling kit with zero to slight trimming

I had 20's on for a few years, and went down to 17's. The 20's are just a little too big for the Dakota, just my opinion.
