Default 01 dakota wont crank after getting hot

hey guys, first a little back ground info. the truck originally started having this problem a few years ago with a erratic idle. it would surge from about 800 rpms to 2000 just sitting there. my mother first had the problem when she pulled up to a stop light and it just died. it sat for about 30 mins and finally came back to life. it would only do it a few times a month. then the idle problem became unreal and it stayed at 5000 rpms all the time. turns out there was a major vacuum leak at the intake where it bolts to the head. after fixing the vacuum leak it ran perfect again and the shutting off and no crank seemed to go away. then the number 4 piston decided it had enough after 306000 miles and was ready for a break.....literally. so the truck sat for a year until I came across a decently used engine in a wrangler. swapped everything over and now the problems back and constantly showing its ugly head. I had to swap all the sensors because the connections had different connectors, replaced the intake gasket, installed a new clutch and all related components to it, installed new plugs, wires and cap and rotor and coil. the original codes where as follows (before engine swap):
big evap leak,
small evap leak,
tps out of range,
tps no signal

and yes I have tested the tps and it is working properly. don't know why this code shows up.

new codes since engine swap:
evap big leak detected
evap small leak detected
tps out of range
tps no signal
crankshaft position sensor no signal

im guessing its probably the last one for the crankshaft position sensor but they aren't that cheap considering what the are so I thought id ask around for some info. ive also heard that the catalytic converter could be causing this by the honey comb expanding and blocking flow when hot but I dunno about that theory just yet.

any ideas? and thanks in advance
