Default Please help

I have a 1997 Dakota slt 3.9 magnum 4x4 that has a bad auto trans, a dent in every panel, and has more rust and rot than I want to deal with(frame is in great shape though). Now I just came across the EXACT same truck but Rwd same trans, engine, trim, color, ect. and this truck has a bad engine now I want to turn 2 junkers into 1 clean truck. my assumption is great no problem, just swap the transmissions and take the front end, cab, and bed off the 4x2 and put them on the 4x4 frame. Sounds easy enough, but I'm not that naive! I am a diy back yard mechanic with moderate wrench skills. I've done engine swaps, trans, rears body panels and so on but never a project this big. what am I in for as far as the trans swap specifically being as they are 4x2 and 4x4? and anything else that comes to mind that I may be overlooking as far as the body swap goes? (I know I have to put a hole in the cab floor for the 4x4 lever but I'm pretty sure that there is a punch out already there from the factory stamping) I appreciate any help i can get with this.
