Default *Horrible Whistling Sound..?

Hey all,

I've been having a reoccurring problem with my 03 3.9L 2x4 Dakota. When the weather starts getting colder my truck likes to make a very high pitched Whistling sound for maybe the first 30 minutes to an hour of driving (so basically every morning I drive to school or work). It starts slow then sharply gets louder and basically dominates all the sound in my cab while I drive. I have no idea what this is lol. One thing I'm noticing is that the Whistling will stop abruptly when I shift gears then start again shortly after being in the new gear. Any help or ideas?? It drives me nuts, thanks lol.

Google search suggests low transmission fluid (that's where I would start)and second could be fule injector related.
