What's best depends on what you want. If you're looking for the best flow numbers, Borla, Magnaflow, and Flowmaster will be your best choices. Personally, I prefer the deeper sound of the Magnaflow or Borla systems. I'm eyeing a Magnaflow for mine and will probably get one in the next couple of weeks.
Look on YouTube for Dodge 4.7 and whatever exhaust you want to hear. There are hundreds of sound clips available. Listen to a few and decide what suits you best.
I've personally been eyeing up the Spintech sysyem. I had a friend that had their racing catalytic converter and muffler on a shortbed 2wd with a 4.7 and a 5spd that sounded GREAT
try upgrading your intake and getting a TB spacer. the motor has to be able to suck in clean air in order to make horsepower. itll give it a better growl too!!
I was looking at cutouts maybe electric ones I have cold air intake, h.o. cams, controller, headers, but the cats are still in I feel like they are a bottle neck, so I'm thinking cutouts will flow even better.
Not trying to distract from the actual subject of these questions, but does anyone know IF they make electric cutouts that would open into another system like "Side Pipes" and where I might find them, IF they do make them? I'm looking at a different sort of setup.

I don't know if this will work. to install the cutout you have to put in a Y. You can turn it however you want. you can turn it to the side and bolt the secondary exhaust behind the cutouts keeping in mind that the exhaust will follow the least restricted path.
Before you choose I would look at some gibsons. I have a 98 with true duals and it sounds amazing. I thought when I put them on that my mpgs would go down but they didn't budge.
i put a flowmaster 50 series on my 02 dakota 4.7, at first it was quite but once it broke in it sounds great! not too loud just an aggresive tone, ver quiite at idle then opens up once u get on it, the whole setup was 217 dollars without s&h, deffinatly recomened it!
Cut the mufflers off my 05 3.7 and it sounds mean and not obnoxious at all
only problem i have is since the piping where its cut is pretty much standing on its on it gets raspy when you step on it, but when i autostick it to engine brake it crackles and sounds mean. i love it
was thinking of either magnaflow or borla mufflers, post a vid if you get the chance
You can always take a metal pipe and ram it through to make a Straight through Cat just in case you have to still have it in place for "LEGAL" reasons.
I have a thrush welded on my 01 4.7 !!! It's kick ass loud but not insane. I noticed a big acceleration difference.. It's a off brand flowmaster some call it and it's under 40$
