Default throttle lag when cold, EGR valve?

Hey guys,
I have a 05 3.7L. Occasionally after a cold start it will give me a kind of throttle lag/ uneven throttle response, like when I press the gas it doesn't accelerate then suddenly lunges forward. It only happens occasionally, and only when I first start driving; after driving a block or two it's fine. It's accompanied by a P0300 random or multiple cylinder misfire code.

I've tried to do a little research and it sounds like it could be a stuck EGR valve, but I can't tell if this vehicle has an EGR valve. Apparently the 3.7L 1500 or 4.7L dakota has an EGR valve located at the back of the engine on the driver side, but it's so far back I can't even tell if it's in the same spot on mine.

Can anybody tell me if the 05 Dakota has an EGR valve, and/or if you think there's something else that may be causing this problem?

Thanks

I would pull all the coils and check the spark plugs. You may see carbon tracking in the spark plug boots. This will cause random missfires.Sounds to me you may have that going on.

I just replaced the spark plugs a couple weeks ago, didn't see any carbon tracking.

Sticking lifters/Valves have been known with this engine. To start out like that cold than throw a rocker arm off sooner or later. How does the engine sound when its cold? First starts up any ticking noticed. It also very well may have no EGR my 04 does not have one.If its throwing a PO300 at least 1 cyl or more are missfireing cold.Could be as simple as a bad coil.If it would throw a code for 1 cyl or 2 of them.Example a PO305 would be cyl number 5.I have had to replace a few coils on my 3.7 which has 180K on it.Knock on wood though its a great running engine.Als note auto zone sells a 6 pack of coils for this engine for cheap money.Around 100 bucks i think
