Newbie with an air conditioning noise.

2003 Dakota. Noise just started at the A/C compressor. Loud chatter like the old card in the spokes of a bike when compressor clutch engaged. Noise goes away while revving up the engine and slowly comes back as RPM goes below 1000. Clutch or compressor???
