Default I want Bucket Seats - What Fits? - Confusion

I want BENCH Seats - BENCH .. NOT BUCKETS.
- I am unable to Edit my Topic for some reason . so sorry .

I am new, pardon my lack of model info .. be gentle

I can see this topic has been covered, BUT I am still confused, As I want the Opposite of what most seem to

I HAVE:
1997 Dakota SLT, 2wd, with 2 Bucket Seats.
(I have no extended cab, 2 seat only, total)

I WANT:
BENCH Seat (in hopes that I can cram a 3rd person inside on rare occasion)

QUESTIONS:

1) What Exactly year/model BENCH seats would fit into my truck
- are only small cab seats compatible ~or~ would a bench from a larger cab Dakota fit?
2) What mods are required to install it?
3) Does the Bench seat allow for a person to sit in the middle?

If you are in Sothern Ontario, and have BENCH for sale cheap, pls let me know

Thank you all,
Crim

I just picked up a BENCH (3 seat) seat and a lot of little things from a scrap yard;
at first glance it appears to generally fit;

I will repost sometime next week with the result, ill try to include pics

RESULT:

Removed:
- 2 Buckets
- 1 broken center console

INSTALLED:
- 1 Bench-Style seat (with a middle seat under center console
Note: seat came from unknown year 2door Larger cab Dakota (that had rear seating)

pics are simply not needed, it was cake.

The good:
- All bolts line up perfect
- Exact same seatbelt assembly (middle seat has its own belt/uses same mount points)
- Center console although smaller is Much better for the leans
- now I haz small 3rd seat in middle!
- No change in seating space - Same adjustment fwd/back
- No clearance issues re: stock Jack/Tire-iron area.

The Bad:
- the top seat headrest ~can~ make contact with the Rear Window - if adjusted one particular way
- I don't think this is an issue, if/when they touch its a Very modest amount
- There was no wiring on the new seat for a Seatbelt Sensor
- does not matter

I have no more or no less Driver space, seems exactly the same. The new middle seat is quite small - again, good for occasional short usage . I highly recommend this to anyone rocking the small cab Dakota.

Overall a simple morning project. I suggest Two people to do it - only because it would be tricky to solo drag the new seat into position without damaging anything

I will not be following this post anymore, but I do hope this helps someone in the future

Stay Hungry,
CZ
