Well, first, yes, they do make limited slip differentials. No, they don't make posi's; they don't make'em for the Ford rear end either (that's a TracLoc on the Ford; may be a TracLoc or a SureGrip on the Mopar rear end.)

And saying "they don't make'em" ... https://www.summitracing.com/parts/d...9273/overview/

That's for a 8.25". Now, if you had a 7.5" rear end, they make them for those also; but that'd be right silly behind a 440.

But to answer your primary question - no idea. It's going to depend quite heavily on which cam, how it's tuned, the carburation, etc.

A 440-3 built in 78 would make this a motor home or RV engine. In stock trim they didn't make much horsepower, but they were chosen for their torque. They made about 225 hp and 360ft-lb of torque.

"Posi" is short for "Positraction" which is GM's term for their brand of limited slip differentials. Chrysler called them Sure Grip. I'm not a fan of the 8.8 Ford. Thin axle tubes.

Ignore my vehicle info. My Dakota has a quad cab swap, a solid axle swap and a Cummins swap
