Default Remote starter

I put a cool start crimestopper rs3-g3 remote starter on my 2001 dodge dakota slt and it works. The problem is I canít get my heater to work when I use the remote start. The heater works when I put the key in the switch and turn it on. Just like to know what I could do to fix it or if anything at all.

This would be a question for the tech support people at Crimestopper. I have no idea of the wiring instructions that came with your unit (I couldn't find a RS3-G3 on their web site, just an RS2-G3 or an RS3-G5), but it would have to be pretty involved to accommodate having the heater control unit powered up, and the door locks (which you indicated in a different post). The ignition switch has six separate sets of contacts, and the different contacts provide power to different systems. Engine start and power for the PCM, etc come off one set of contacts. Power for the heater controls from a different set, and door locks are run through the TCM, which come through another set.

Again, I have no idea how many wires coming off the ignition switch were spliced into, but suspect that power is not being applied to all accessories until you actually insert the key and turn it to the RUN position.

Ok I will go back and reread everything and see if I left out anything and Iíll try to get ahold of a tech from the company if I canít figure it out. Thanks for your advice!
