Default 3.9 PCM problem, and I'm lost

December of 2018 I noticed the truck wouldn't start - I'd turn the key, it would turn over but no start. I noticed the fuel pump didn't make its noise, kept turning key off and on until pump started, truck ran and then just died. All arrows pointed toward PCM. Bought used PCM from ebay for $80, drove truck through a full tank, not a daily driver so that took 5 months. A week ago same issue, no fuel pump and this time it will not come on no matter what.

I get NO BUS, Christmas tree lights on dash, no pump, etc. I've done my research, I've read extensively, I've followed as much as I can. I checked pin 17 on the black harness to the PCM and on the old AND new PCM I'm creating 5v. I've disconnected all sensors to make sure they're not shorting the power rail, still no bus.

I can accept that it's the luck of the draw that the second PCM was on it's last leg but being a tech person I'm more inclined to believe something is killing the PCM. I have another reman, vin programmed, lifetime warranty PCM on the way but I want to check everything before I go plugging it in and watch it die. I need to drive from LA to San Diego for 5 days and absolutely cannot die on the road.

I checked the CTM but everything it's supposed to do, it does.
I unplugged the ABS module, no PCM input.
I've disconnected the PDC under the hood
I've checked all fuses and relays.

All of this is with the 2 old PCMs I have in hopes they just light up, since they're creating the 5v they need to work and that seems to be the most common issue.

Should I try ALL sensors again and see what happens? Can anyone suggest metering a wire somewhere, looking for something, definitely replacing a sensor, etc?

Thanks guys.
