Default Rear Brake swap to Disc on 97 Dakota
Hi, Is there any rear disc brake's from a different truck that will fit my 97 Dakota ? They have aftermarket kits but very expensive !

Default Disc conversion
Go to the junk yard and find a 94 to 98 Grand Cherokee and strip off the entire rear disc brake system. Its almost a direct fit. you will have to have a machine shop re drill the brake rotors though as they are not the same lug pattern as your axles. You will need two flexible rear brake hoses. There are many write ups on the conversion on the net if you search around. Once I got all the parts, it took me around 2 1/2 hours to do it. I used Ford brake cables for the emergency brake.
It works perfect with the A.B.S system in your truck as they are both Chrysler.
