Default Unknown Engine Issue

Hi Everyone,
I've got mysterious problem starting about a month ago...but I dont know the source. Here comes the novel.
FYI, the truck has 80k, overall runs great, but did have some transmission work done a couple years back when the torque converter sensor didnt tell the TC to come on, resulting in it and portion of tranny requiring rebuild.

-4 weeks ago, as accelerating onto freeway, all of a sudden theres a shutter and then truck drops down a gear and wont go over that gear. I believe it was around 3rd since I couldn't drive above 50mph due to the RPMs would keep rising without truck kicking into next gear. Immediately drive to a shop, he plugs in and finds an error code P1776 regarding a solenoid valve issue. He clears and takes for a spin but the problem does not return. Just a fluke? On the way home from the shop I drove up to 90 on the fwy with no problem. 2 days later, I notice a small oil leak that has now developed on the side of engine half way down left side of engine by pistons 4&6. The oil leak was not there before the incident, and you can smell the burned oil in the AC. At this time, was hoping it was just a fluke, and the leak just random.

-2 weeks ago, get new water pump, oil change, and refrig leak fix, but did not tackle the oil leak since $$$

-3 Days ago, going up the same darn onramp for fwy, get a shutter again and the check engine light flashes approx 10X, then off for 10 seconds, then flashes 10X again before going away for good. In that time, the truck seemed to buck / shutter under acceleration. I limp home and let it sit for a couple days. Check codes and get a P 0302, so a misfire in 2nd cylinder. Today I started troubleshooting the misfire by swapping coils between 2 & 4, then clearing the codes before going for a ride. I drove for 10 mins on city and fwy, and they error never came back.

But I'm not that nieve anymore, there is obviously a problem, I wonder if this misfire if just a symptom from a problem started a month ago.

Oh gods of the forums, what is this problem? How should I best troubleshoot?
