Default Engine Swap Question

Hey guys.

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7l 5 speed manuel.

I was wondering if I can do a easily swap with a 5.9l without changing stuff out. My 8th digit of the vin is N if that helps.

I appreciate all the help.

4.7 to a 5.9 without changing "stuff" out? Nope.

As a minimum, motor, flywheel, new mounts, clutch, and ECU. In addition to the motor itself, of course.

Just put a 405hp magnum purchased new 3yrs ago in a 93 2dr Dakota sport. I bought rig new so it’s a one owner Had the 4cyl 5spd and a totally plain acc list. Put a Silversport GM 4l60E trans in and it fit very well. Headers required some dinging around steering but no big deal. We just got it running and then I left on vacation. It has the bypass regulator that goes down to 3 psi so we’re starting with a 750 carb. Will later change to throttle body efi when we get it sorted out. The regulator allows the use of stock efi pump in the fuel tank. This crate engine is no longer available but is 4bolt mains and internally balanced. Put a 3.91 8.25 Dak rear end in with aftermarket posi. Lots to sort out but it should be entertaining.
