Hi All!

I have a 2000 Dakota 4.7 4x4 3.91 gears, 210k. I picked up a 2002 Durango for the drive train. I noticed the back drums are 11x2 drums. My Dakota has 9" drums. Both axles are 9 1/4, i was thinking of swapping to the bigger drums at the next brake change. swapping backing plates....do i need the proportioning valve? Has anyone done this upgrade?

I would swap proportioning valves, yes; however, the problem if any will be that the rear brakes will either come in sooner than before (causing a possible under steer as the rear end locks up) or later (negating the whole bigger-brake thing.)

It's almost a shame it's not a 2003 Durango; that's when they went to the dual-piston front calipers.
