4.7 Won't Start/Cam Sensor

Replaced the heads on my 2000 Dakota 4.7 and it wouldn't start. OBDII called out Cam Sensor. Pulled Cam Sensor cleaned it and reinstalled. Engine fired and ran for three days. Towed it home and had the same code. Purchased new cam sensor and it will not start. Any ideas???

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas on where to go next.

Did some searching and found nothing definitive other than checking the wiring, and verifying you're getting 5 volts at the sensor. I did find a couple of threads (on competitive forums) that discussed the woodruff key in the front of the crankshaft that holds the crank timing gear in place. It seems the key can break or distort enough to throw off cam timing and trigger a P0340 code. Do a Google search on "dodge 4.7l woodruff key p0340". May not be your problem, but something to check.
