Question Need some Muffler advice!

Hey fellow Dakota owners, I am new here and I need a bit of help/advice on choosing a new muffler for my 2007 Dakota ST 3.7l V6.

When I purchased the truck used from a dealership, the vehicle had the stock exhaust and me being me, all my past vehicles always had aftermarket exhaust/mufflers. I like to hear my vehicle, not into the silent stock exhaust. Well I have had single chamber mufflers before on my old '94 K1500 Chevy Stepside(miss that truck), and on a 2000 GMC Sierra. Both of those trucks sounded great with a single chamber.

So, I'm thinking maybe the same muffler would sound good on a V6? Turns out no, I do not like the sound at all. It only sounds good on a warmed up idle.

I am interested in magnaflow, I like the straight through design, not the chambered crap(atleast on a v6). I am going for a low end, deep tone this time because I think it would work better with a V6, no gargle, open header sound.

I found this muffler I am interested in, the magnaflow 12216 model..

I found this one as well, dual outlets for future dual exhaust..

The exhaust setup is going to be dumped under the bed as it is currently, I am not trying to get pipes and tips at the moment being on a budget and all.

Anyone else on here have a 3.7l V6 close to the same setup I want to do? I know it will probably be on the loud side but it can't be any louder than what I have now. Sorry for the long post but I just want to pick the right muffler this time, this is my 1st V6 vehicle.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Had a 3.9 V6 Cherrybomb sounded pretty good on it. Mostly at idle. However, I'm a Magnaflow guy now. Cherrybomb is cheaper than Magnaflow. I think Magnaflow comes with a lifetime warranty... whatever that may include/cover. Good luck.

I like the sound of magnaflow. It is not too loud.

5.2 with true 2.25 duals and a 40 series Flowmaster. Scares old people and young children 🤣
