could be. mechanic said differential .he also said 4 hours to do the job and i did my cv and bearing in less than 1.5.dont know about the shaft. Is it difficult to change out and do i have to replace the shaft itself or just the u-joint? thanks

Automatic or manual tranny? Just took mine out of a 2001 manual and can't seem to find the same one to replace with. All rebuilts I find have two u-joints instead of one and a CV joint, may be better, Guess I'll order one in to see. Only thing that made job difficult was the Lok-tite on the bolts, careful with the back ones, they are small and could break. Don't re-install with too much torque.
