My problem is this it was running fine then it started to act like it was losing gas it would buck and back fire I would have to play the throttle to keep it going and if I found the sweet spot on the throttle it would keep running fine. Then it died the other day as I was backing into the driveway! I was thinking it was the fuel pump so I tried dumping a little gas in the throttle body and it started right up. But when I check the pump it runs to prime its self up, but still no start if I turn the key a couple times then crank it it tries but doesn't go I was wondering if it could still be the pump or maybe the cam sensor? But it runs iffirst?is put in the throttle body so it not firing issue just wondering if there is some other testing I should do first?

The 1990 doesn't have a cam sensor per se, being LA-based.

I'd check the fuel pressure. Just because it runs to prime (and that's a timed run!) doesn't mean it's at the specified pressure.

Which, for the TBI units, should be 14.5psi +- .5psi, from my notes.
