1995 Dakota 3.9 Electrical issues

So I found a 95 dakota a few years ago and took it on as a project/ extra pickup truck for construction work. Gave a few hundred for it, as it just quit running one day. I figured it can be nothing major with low mileage @150k.

Did the complete tune up and read in these forums about the corroded splice coming off the fuse box under the hood. Well I fixed that got it running good.

Here is my issue now I have no power to headlights, taillights (blinkers works), radio, ac fan, wipers.
Replaced head light switch and turn signal cluster. All my fuses check out. Any ideas where else to look.
Thanks yall are awesome

Is there any chance you have electrical diagrams on the truck? If not, AutoZone offers basic wiring diagrams on many vehicles by simply registering on their website. I have a friend who had an electrical problem with a 97 S10 truck and I was able to fix it with the AutoZone diagrams available. I'd be glad to help if you can get some basic info. Keep us posted.

Good advice from Richard. I only have schematics going back to '97 & I know, from helping troubleshoot an '01, that some of the lighting circuits changed from '00 to '01, so if I was still a gambling man I'd bet that they probably changed a few times before that. I am not sure if you are saying that the tail lights don't work but the turn signals do? Anyway, from '97 through '99 they apparently did put a headlight relay in the circuit, so you might see if your '95 has one in the PDC. (Although that wouldn't account for the other no-power issues you have.)

But if this is going to be a project truck, you may as well break down & buy some manuals. Haynes doesn't get much respect around here, but they do have schematics in the back, although I cannot find much rhyme or reason to which schematics they include & which they don't. The FSM is preferred by far; I got a full set for my '03 on Ebay for about $75, & if you can find a set on ebay, I'd say that would be a good investment to make.

Thanks for the info about the wiring diagrams. Been trying to find some online. I'm just trying to get the truck usable then work on the body and paint. It'll just be for my sidejobs (I work in Construction).

You want to verify that you are getting power to your fuse box and up to each fuse controlling what is not working. But then on another note if you ever have to work on the exhaust system I find since I have a 95 Dodge 1500 the Dakota y-pipe will fit on the 95 Dodge 1500 the number for that is 40235 from Walker the auto parts store will tell you it won't fit but I verified it does fit it just does not include the cat which is good because our vehicles are emissions exempt and that'll save you up a load of money

So trying to backtrack the wiring today I found more corrosion in the Main plug going into the firewall. Now to find another plug and splice the wires.
