I've been having this problem for a few years now but now it's really starting to get to me. When I first start up the truck, the A/C will work fine, but after 10-20 minutes it will start blowing hot and uncomfortable air. I've looked around online and seen people suggest things like leaks and relays and temp switches, however if I leave my truck running, pop the hood and hit the front of the compressor with something hefty like a rock, the compressor comes back on and the A/C will blow cool again.

So is it the compressor or some other electrical problem?

Welcome to the forum!

i would go with the compressor. mine was replaced by the previous owner but even that one is giving me fits from time to time, might be time for a new one

it could be a loose wire, but i would wager it is the compressor itself
