I just picked up a used 2005 4wd. I am wanting to put 33/12.50R20/9 +18 on it. I have been researching for days and it seems that the standard for this size wheel/tire package is leveling kit plus 3" body lift.

The problem is, my truck already sits level. If the front gets raised it will squat in the rear. I don't know if there is supposed to be OEM lift blocks on the rear, but I don't see any. It sits level, but seems lower than most I have seen online in stock configuration. I wonder if it has anything to do with being a fleet truck for a gas company.

This individuals truck has a 2.5 in leveling kit and 3 in Body lift. I'm afraid a leveling kit would not be right for my truck. And, is a 3" body lift enough with it currently sitting so low.

It looks like your truck does have a leveling kit installed already, unless the rear was lowered previously. And there are no OEM blocks in the rear. With your truck being a 4wd, any leveling kit over 2" will wreak havoc on the front end, unless you don't mind replacing parts on a regular basis.

Performance Accessories is the brand who makes the 3" body lift for our trucks.

Below is what tire will fit with what you're looking to do with your truck.

3G Dakota tire sizes with 1.5" or 2.0" leveling kit, 3" body lift with moderate trimming.
-305/70/16 (32.8 x 12 x 16)
-305/65/17 (32.6 x 12 x 17)
-285/65/18 (32.6 x 11.2 x 18)

3G Dakota tire sizes with 1.5" or 2.0" leveling kit, 3" body lift with insane trimming.
-315/75/16 (34.6 x 12.4 x 16).
-315/70/17 (34.4 x 12.4 x 17)
-325/65/18 (34.6 x 12.8 x 18)

So I should start with a 3" body lift and see if that is enough? Or would it be better do do a suspension lift? I live in the rust belt so the mounts are most likely rusted pretty good. I don't care how I get there, I just want something about 33".

There are no suspension lifts for our trucks. All we have are leveling kits for the front, blocks or add a leaf in the back, and the 3" body lift. These trucks never had any decent aftermarket support, so modification parts are kinda scarce. If you're gonna do 33s, you'll be cutting and trimming to fit 'em on.
