Okay last year I replaced the drum brakes on my 99. I noticed that it didn't have those bird-beak shaped rods that connect the brakes to the wheel cylinder. I installed the brakes anyways. So last week when I was just entering the HWY from my road and hanging a left my right wheel, brakes, drum and everything shot off and of course my truck dropped and dragged the pavement. After I got out I noticed that all 6 studs were snapped. I'm wondering if it was cause I didn't have those specific rods or possibly even worse I had an unknown enemy that loosened my lug nuts. I also notice 2 lug nuts hand tight on my drivers side of my rear wheel as well. My question mainly remains does all dakotas have those or was there a line that produced them without those bird-beak shaped rods? I have new shoes and hardware ready to replace those that got damaged but don't want to install it all if that is something missing.
