Hello I posted earlier about a hose that lead to nowhere. Well I found the upper part today so I need to find out what it is to get another and what if anything it connects to.ill repost the pics and show u the other peice. The top part starts in the back of engine by fire wall and it not the 2 that go in it. It runs down the middle of the truck and connects to this thing with another smaller hose Thanks!

Sorry, I am bad with pictures and better at looking at the actual thing, but . . . from some previous posts, yours is an '00, right?

I also remember that yours has the purge solenoid (which should have 2 small lines & an electrical connector to it) mounted on the firewall (versus on the battery tray), making me think that the LDP (leak detection pump) is also on the firewall? (I could be wrong about that.)

The hose you are holding looks about the right size as one of the ones from your LDP to the charcoal cannister which should be mounted under your truck on the frame rail in the vicinity of your fuel tank.

Just for the helluvit, take a look under there & see if that hose from the charcoal cannister is there & hooked up to anything. I could be (& probably am) wrong about all this, but I guess it could be possible that this part of your emmisions was deleted by previous owner & the PO also managed to cheat the PCM to keep the CEL from lighting up. (It's also possible that not ALL of the '00s had a LDP as part of the EVAP system, & yours is one of those, which would make everything I just typed null & void).

You said something that is now a different issue for me. You said that the purge solenoid has 2 hoses and an electrical component to it. Well there's what I thought was a tiny hard hose that's connected to the purge and that runs through the fire wall. That tiny thing broke and I thought it was just a hose so I've been trying to somehow put one one there. My brake fluid had completely drained somewhere and my brake pedal goes to the ground. That other broke hose yes it goes all the way down to near the gas tank along with another matching hose that hooks into that thing near the tank.
as deleted by previous owner & the PO also managed to cheat the PCM to keep the CEL from lighting up. (It's also possible that not ALL of the '00s had a LDP as part of the EVAP system, & yours is one of those, which would make everything I just typed null & void).

Ok disregard the first half of my message my purge solenoid I believe is right but directly behind it is a tiny hard hose that goes from a connector behind the purge and into my firewall under the heater hoses and here's a picture of it. My brake fluid has disappeared that's new after I changed my valve covers I probably broke something. Getting overwhelmed.

That small vacuum line is teed into the vacuum line that also feeds the brake booster. That line goes through the firewall and then to the a/c control panel. Up until 2000, the various 'doors' in the a/c system (blend door, mode door, recirc door, etc) were powered by vacuum. Without this vacuum source, you can't control how much heat/cooling you get from the a/c system or where it goes -- vent, floor, defrost, etc.

If your brake fluid has disappeared, you need to check for leaks in your brake lines right away. If you lose all your brake fluid and you start introducing air into the system, you will lose brake effectiveness, and eventually lose your brakes, and that's NOT GOOD.

I haven't even driven my truck not until I fix it. I took out the seats and the carpet so I can look all up under the dash I thought I fixed the leaks but it's still blowing air through my defroster. I will put brake fluid in right now thank you!
