The cooling system in most vehicle is very simple; liquid is being pushed by a pump and is regulated by a valve. That's about it. Sometimes diagnosing the overall problem is easy, sometimes difficult. The cooling system can tell you many things about your engine from heating issues to head gasket issues.

















These are straight from the Factory Service Manual. The diagnostic flow chart should do well with 1987-1991 2.5, 3.9, and 5.2 engines. The images above are 825x600 scanned. I also have the full resolution images as well if need be HERE along with the smaller images.
