Had this issue at only select moments. When I am on a downhill off ramp from the freeway, my engine overheats. This is the only time I have this issue. I have replaced the thermostat, and cannot find any leaks. Any thoughts on this?

Fan clutch.

Radiator partially plugged.

Waterpump failing.

Those are some possibilities.

Also, I'd add a real temperature gauge; you may just have a bad sensor, or bad wiring to it.

The gauge SHOULD be the sending unit kinda sorta under the A/C compressor, not the two-wire on the driver's side front (that would be to the spark control computer).
