Source: Haynes manual for 1998/99 Dakota/Durango.

Transfer case lubricant type: DexronII automatic transmission fluid
(Note: on the Dakota transfer case types used are:
NV231 and NV231-HD 2.5 pts
NV242 Dakota 2.5 pts

Front (differential) axle 4WD 3.0 pts (SAE 75W-90) GL-5 lubricant

Rear axle differential 8 1/4 inch 4.4 pts
Rear axle LSD 9 1/4 inch 4.8 pts
add friction modifier add Mopar friction modifier (or equivalent friction
modifier..around 150 to 200ml. (I used PROLAB TDA-62 in my 9 1/4"
98 Dakota RWD, has worked well for me for 3 years now.

ok,good you are aware of that... because without the friction modifier the LSD/"TracLok" clutch plates will start to "chatter" and that will result in unecessary LSD friction clutch plates (3) material wear = big expense
to change out the clutch plates.
