Hey All,

I have a 2k sportsman edition 5.9v8 fulltime 4wd. When I startout from a stop, it sounds like the front left wheel is connected via a hammer drill, but once I'm moving it's fine. If I put it in 4 high or 4 low, it doesn't make the sound when I'm accelerating, but it does when I'm coasting. It started a while ago, only making a single clunk when I would accelerating and would jerk a little like something slipped. However, now it's doesn't slip anymore, but the single clunk has become a non-stop clunk like a hammer drill until I'm up to speed or just coasting along. i.e. very little power applied to the wheels.

Thanks!

It might be a bad CV joint. BTW never shift into 4wd on pavement, no matter if the pavement is dry or wet. This can cause driveline bind and severely damage drivetrain parts.
