long story! Please read on.

2006 mitshubishi raider. For those that dont know its a dodge dakota with a modified body style. Made on the Dakota assembly line.

PROFILE: 2006 4.7 v8 automatic all wheel/4wheel drive. Garaged near boston ma.

PROBLEM:

August 2016. hard starting. kept getting worse as time went on. Replaced cam sensor. No help. Checked fuel pressure, 11 psi, should be about 55 psi. Order and replace fuel pump from CARID..105.00. Ran good for 2 weeks. Started running rough. Checked fuel pump pressure on new fuel pump 20 psi. Interestingly ALWAYS starts fine first thing in the morning, as soon as it warms up wont start easily, ie key on/off key several times while listening for fuel pump on/off hum. Eventually truck will start. Always seems to run fine once started. I gave up, brought truck to a mitsubishi dealer. 320.00 later, seems to be fuel pump. 1100.00 to replace. COLD DAY IN HELL. Called CARID. Told them I wanted a different fuel pump. Have an electronic fuel pump being sent. They are sending me a third pump like the one i bought, warranty only covers like part number replacement. They gave me a 25.00 gift card plus 5% off on the electronic fuel pump, net 78.00. For anyone interested Ill update this post when I get the new fuel pump installed.

I am baffaled by the fact it always starts when the engine is dead cold.
When warm, almost acts like a vapor lock. If anmyone has any suggestions please let me know, VERY FRUSTRATING!
