Took the truck on a "trust building exersize" to the salt flats for World of Speed.
Lot of Dakotas there, even the officials drive em.
Had a great time and the wind didnt slow me down at all.

One question...
I did notice the heater is really hot 馃サ.
I was thinking of swapping in a 180掳 thermostat. Is there any reason I shouldnt ???
I know my XJ requires you to run a 195 for proper emissions but the dakota heater is 馃敟.

A few weekends ago Dusty completed his first major hill climb while towing. Parleys canyon I-80.
8% grade.
Did well. About 45 mph at the top 2nd gear. In my XJ we would be at 30-35mph.

Also got one of those swing away tool boxes to hold all my fluids like coolant and oil.
It holds 2 , gallon jugs and 3 quarts of oil with room to spare.

Tool box installed and I ordered a kit to fix the seat tracks. Getting tired of it moving forward.
Had to do a set of corvette tracks, pretty easy job.

Went camping 2 weeks ago. This time I went south to Yuba reservoir. There's a section of I-15 thru Nephi that has a few hills usually with alot of wind. I hated going through this area.
Dusty went through that at 65 no problem and actually enjoyed the drive.
So satisfied.

Thanks.
I got em wired up today and working.
Didn't buy any harnesses with relays or that crap.
Just 14 gauge wire and a 50amp toggle switch. Minimum wire old school methods. Nothing heats up with this setup.
Of course a fuse near the battery though. 馃槈
I did run the ground wires up out of the elements. Always gotta have good grounds.
