Hi all,
I’m building a sleeper 1990 Dakota with a 1978- 440 and need advice from those who have done it. Starting with the engine mounts. Does someone sell a mounting kit or will I have to make my own? The engine and transmission came out of a motorhome so the 727 is a short tail. I’m guessing I’ll be making a trans mount as well. Any information would be great. Thanks

Shumacher Creative design sells mounting kits for the Dakota. Here's a tip: get yourself aluminum heads from Trick Flow then put an aluminum water pump on it. Why? because it will then weigh no more than a stock 360 does.
Also, you can stoke these motors quite easily. With 512 cu in and the right cam and aluminum heads, you're over 650 hp n/a.
