Hi, I just bought a 2011 Dodge Dakota. I have the key fob that has the key fob + the actual cut key in one. I am having issues well it's just straight up not working. I have to manually lock and unlock my doors. I have looked it up and it says that you need two keys to program a new key fob. I guess my question is, is there any other way I could try to reprogram this key fob I already have to work? I only have the one key w/the fob. Also YES I HAVE CHANGED THE BATTERY. any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Sometimes, the presence of dirt or dust inside will cause the buttons to not respond. Open it up and clean the contacts and circuit board with rubbing alcohol or similar cleaner.

Also you can check the solder joints on the battery tray. It's possible a solder joint broke and is no longer making contact with the circuit board in the fob. You can re-solder it but must be very careful of the heat so you don't damage the circuit board.
