Wow so my dakota 2000 (4.7 4x4) was idling between 1200-1500. Cleaned throttle body, didn’t help. After tapping my IAC motor with a wrench it would change the idle completely. I put in another one and now my idle is butter smooth at 650-750rpms.

Mine (2004 4.7 4x4) is having a similar issue! I haven’t checked the IAC motor, but it’s idling at 1500 rpm. What happened before yours started acting up?

It was just idling at 1000-1500. Start your truck and tap the IAC motor with a wrench. If the idle changes, it’s bad.
