Please read ..I have a dakota 2004 3.7 4x4 ....I'm losing my ever loving mind on this one
Symptom ....when accelerator is pressed ...slowly quickly doesn't matter . In park or gear ...it immediately starts throttling up and down like its hitting a rev limiter

I have replaced fn everything ...I mean everything ....as follows ..new sensors..map, crank ,cam ,throttle position ,air idle control , coils , and now at the dealerships advice ..pcm....no change ...idles like shit ....cant barely drive unless u nurse up to speed ..maybe 40 mph

Started out doing this intermittently and if I revved it out it would quit doing it ..not converters I rebuilt motor and put brand new manifolds by Walker and everything all the way back

On a 04' Dak, it might be a single speed sensor on the trans. Not both input and output sensor. Or rear wheel/axel sensor. Other than that, fuse panel? A very very, bad wire/connection.😁 Not to be idiotic, but make sure you have a solid battery terminal connection. Wish I could be more help. Good luck, again.

Evening DrvnMad2004.
I've only had my dakota about a month and still learning it. I do have a mechanic and electric back ground (going at since age 13) (I'm 72 in Nov this year). Did you by any chance check your exaust gas re-circulation valve? Sounds like it may be at least partially stuck open. Try some "Lucas" in your fuel to help clean and lube it. If you decide to take it off be sure you have new gaskets around, just in case.

Need help still down

So ...no luck with my truck
Mechanic has had it now for 8 weeks , dealership misdiagnosed and I went to the end of my ability to figure it out , please read prior post about rev limiter ...lmk if you have any ideas ..10 k + in this truck in parts....sitting still going to waste ..

4 low not working

I have a 03 Dakota 4.7 4wd. Switches into 4 hi but not 4 Low. What can be my problem before I pay a transmission shop or replace the t case? I'm in FL, I don't know what they charge anywhere else but out here its expensive as hell

I'd think it would be the switch itself. After words a fuse/relay. If it's mechanical, maybe a solenoid/linkage. That's where I would start.
