Just put my 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 2X4 4.7 in for inspection and it failed due to worn tie rod ends.

anyone know about how much this would cost me to replace?

I had a quote for just over a grand from a local shop to work on tie rods/ends. Got the parts for about 200.00 and gonna get started this AM. I let you know how it goes....

I replaced my entire rack and pinion assembly (which comes with the inner tie rods) and ordered the outers for about $9 each (if that's not it exactly, its close; they were fairly cheap) from Rock Auto. The parts were about $300 and I paid about $300 for labor (mechanic friend of mine). If you can do the work yourself, you can save loads on a job like this. I wasn't confident that I could do it, so I had it done. Good luck!
