The timing cover started leaking coolant, so I took it off, and figured might as well replace my timing chain while I’m at it. The new one feels all loose just like the old one. Lined up the dots before I removed it, installed the new one with new sprockets. It’s a double linked chain, and it is all tight on one side, but the other side moves almost half an inch. This is the first timing chain I’ve done, and I don’t know if NAPA gave me a defective chain or if this is just normal.
