I have a 2003 dakota quadcab 4x4, w/4.7. I noticed my brake lights weren't working. I tried the flashers and they worked great. So, I figured it was the brake pedal switch. I replaced the switch. Still no brake lights. I could not find any fuse on the fuse panel in the dash. So I looked at the Power Distribution Center (PDC) under the hood. I found one FLS style fuse that was labled "ST LAMP", replaced that, still no brakes. I found a "trlr 1" fuse and a "trlr 2" fuse, for the trailer circuit. I replace both. Still no brake lights.
I don't know where to look next. Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance for any idea's.

Thanks for the diagram!!!!

I was able to diagnose a brand new switch that was defective. I exchanged it for another one which did not light up until the pedal was at least half way down, (another one that was defective). I exchanged it again, and got a good one. Works great. Thanks again for the help!! Have a good Thanksgiving!
