I've searched and couldn't find anything so apologies if this is a dead horse. I have a leak in a transfer tube that runs along the top of the rack and pinion. apparently they don't make them as a replacement part and normal break line fittings don't work. Do I really need to buy a whole new rack and pinion for $20 worth of fittings and line? Please tell me one of you macgyver geniuses have found a better solution. thank you in advance.

You didn't provide any information about the year, model, engine, etc. (Add this to your profile and it will always be there.) Cardone makes hydraulic transfer lines for rack and pinions. See here: https://www.cardone.com/find-parts#

Once you get to the page for your model, scroll all the way to the bottom to Rack & Pinion Units.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately they don't carry for an '07. I've found them for '04 and older but seems like no one caries them for anything newer.

Sorry, I didn't realize yours was an '07. There are salvage yards that have the whole rack and pinion assembly, but the asking price seems to be around $100 for most of them. You might try calling one and see if they'll sell just the hydraulic transfer tubes.
