RRT's, TSB's, and Recalls Explained

RRT's (Rapid Response Transmittals) are repairs or modifications needing to be performed on vehicles in the dealers stock. If the affected vehicle has been sold, the RRT applies so long as it's still under the parts original warranty. RRT's are sometimes released in conjunction with a TSB.

TSB's are guidelines for repairing known issues but unlike recalls or RRT's, they are not an authorization for repair although vehicles under warranty are typically repaired according to the bulliten at no charge.

Recalls authorizations for needed repairs (generally regarding but not limited to safety issues). Parts and labor are covered for the life of the affected vehicle regardless of ownership or where it was purchased.
