I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota quad cab 4x4 and was wanting to do a solid front axle swap what kind of a front axle can I use.

The answer I'd give for now is, it depends. We would need more info as to what your goals are, or how big do you want to go, and your intended use. The most basic answer is any axle that has a pumpkin on the driver's side, as a starter, This would mean most any axle used under a Ford or any axle used under a Dodge beginning in 94. Most desirable tend to be Ford axles since they also come with a high pinion, but a low pinion axle will work too.
