I have a 2005 dodge dakota 3.7L V6 that won't start. I replaced the battery, checked all the fuses and relays. When I turn the key to on all the dash lights come on and when I turn the key to start the lights will go out but the starter won't engage. I removed the starter/solenoid and had them checked at an electrical shop and they checked out okay. If I use a bypass starter switch, the engine will crank but won't start. There is fuel getting to the engine. Any suggestions?????

Welcome!

sounds like it could be a wiring problem. where do you connect the bypass starter switch? if your starter is good and a bypass starter makes the engine turn over, then somewhere between where your starter is connected and where you connect the bypass starter is an issue.

not sure why the bypass starter wont make the engine start though

If the truck has chipped keys you may be having trouble with the skim or the bcm.You may be forced to go to a dealer to get a diagnostic and reprogram. You might try another key if you have one.Hope this helps
