I have an 05 dakota with the 4.7 engine and it just turned over 100000 miles. All of a sudden the engine will not idle. As soon as you remove your foot from the gas the engine dies and at a stop light I have to keep it in neutral and my foot on the accelerator. My mechanic has not been able to figure it out yet. Any ideas? Anyone else experience this?

Could be a throttle position sensor or dirty idle solenoid. I would pull the throttle body and clean it and the idle solenoid first (I assume your model has it).

The TPS has little nubs check that they are not wore or ground off.
