Towing capacity of a 2002 Dakota

Hi,
I'm getting conflicting info researching online for the towing capacity of my truck. It's a 2002 crew cab 4x4 Dakota with the 3.7 V6 engine and I believe the towing package because it already has the sway bars installed. What would the towing capacity be? I want to tow a travel trailer or fifth wheel and need to know what its capabilities are. I've gotten mixed reviews online as to what people have been able to do with it. And also, someone said that you can tow a little heavier of a fifth wheel than you can a hitch mounted travel trailer, is this true? Any insight wuld be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the link.

So potentially a fifth wheel can be a little heavier given the method of attachment and towing. <<<Higher tow ratings are used for pickups that tow fifth-wheel trailers. See your dealer for more information.>>>

The other thing I perceive from this is that the truck in essence does not change body wise, structural wise, engineering\mechanical wise between the two other than the motor size\trans (is this correct?) So the difference between the two would be the "strain" on the motor\transmission pulling the heavier camper. So if a 3.7 was to pull a slightly heavier camper, it could be done if I were to take it easier on the trip (take off, speed, etc.) without impacting safety of driving. Is this correct?

My 06 4.7 4wd larmine has a 6900 toe capacity. You need to check if you have the tow package check for factory trailer plug, look for the brake controller connection under the dash. Now remember it's a Dakota you need to stop what your towing. A 2002 Dakota has ratings from 3950lbs with a 3.55:1 Axle ratio up to 5400lbs with a 3.92:1 Axle ratio, of that you should only use 70% of as a measure of safety. I don't think they make a fifth wheel mount for the Dakota. Try https://www.kbb.com

Thanks! And I have read of other people who have towed fifth wheel's. Don't know if they're using a modified mount or not
