Recently I had a really bad water leak from my 5.2. A mechanic buddy of mine took a look and said it was my water pump. In many cases I've seen when the water pump is bad you can jiggle the fan and mine wasn't doing that. So after removing the water pump I noticed some water cuts on the surface where the water pump mounts. I got another water pump was extra cautious and added a decent amount of high temp RTV where I thought it would match up with those water cuts installed it and no leaks. Less than a week later I notice wetness on the pavement underneath where my water pump is. So when I looked yep it's leaking. My question is has anybody ever repaired water cuts before and if so how would I go about it? I posted this also in the General Discussion area but after thinking about it maybe this would be a better place to post it?
No need to double post, it takes a little while for responses as this site is a little slow. That is provided someone has an answer to your question. I'm going to remove the other post since we don't allow double posts.
Thanks! I'll have to remember the correct place to post something next time. I signed in through General Discussion and after posting there I realized that I posted it in the wrong place. Sorry about that.
Thanks! Ugh! I took another look and see that the leak is coming from higher up and it kinda looks like it's coming from the head. So I will have tackle it tomorrow morning cause that sun is killer on me
