Got a weird one here! My 98 Dakota 4x4 with a 3.9 v6 auto trans has a weird problem! Most transmission problems get worse as the engine/trans warm up, but mine gets better! Here's the scenerio:

Starting up cold trans won't shift from 2-3 unless I run it up to about 2500 rpms and let off the throttle, then it shifts into 3rd. But after the engine/trans warm up about 15 minutes, the problem goes away!

Only happens in colder weather, under about 55 degrees. Works fine all summer, only acts up in the fall/winter. Done this for 2 years now. Doesn't seem to slip in 2nd or third, just the no shift problem.

Any clues?

HELP ME!

Don't really have a clue but it sounds like once the fluid thins out some it's flowing like it should. Maybe the filter of something else partially clogged?
