Need some been there done that advice on my 2001 4.7..Blew a head gasket in my driveway after a short trip to the beach, Oil is a mix of anitfreeze, old carbon, some shiny metal shavings and clear oil on top after a 24hr drain into a clean pan. My question is has anyone seen a crank with wear marks on one of the blades like this

I don't have the 4.7 in my Dakota, and have not taken one down. But here's a YouTube video of a guy rebuilding his. Starting at about 11:45 in the video, you can see the cheeks of the crank throws, and it appears that they are machined, as yours appear to be. So I think this is from the factory and is normal. See 4.7L crankshaft
